A need to talk is common in those who  respond best to this remedy, and they tend  to be depressed, nervous, and anxious. Illness may be accompanied by uneasy sleep and  frightening dreams.

Fraxinus is chiefly used for uterine problems.  Typical symptoms include a uterus that is relaxed in tone, or possibly prolapsed, with a watery, non-irritating vaginal discharge and a heavy, painful, bearing-down sensation. The remedy is also given for heavy, painful menstruation, and for fibroids and  other tumors.

Key symptoms

  • Enlargement of uterus; fibrous growths, subinvolution, and prolapse
  • Uterine tumors with bearing-down sensations
  • Cramping in feet, worse in afternoon and night
  • Dysmenorrhoea; watery, unirritating leucorrhoea
  • Bearing-down pain extending down thigh from left inguinal region
  • Throbbing pain in back of head; hot spot on top of head
  • Cold creeping sensations and hot flashes

Worse (aggravation)

For injury; for sprains; for lifting.

White Ash. N. O. Oleaceæ. Tincture of the bark.

Clinical

Uterus, affections of; prolapse of. Uterus, tumours of.

Characteristics

Fraxinus has had a fragmentary proving, but the chief clinical authority for its use is Dr. Burnett, who regards it as a uterine tonic in all heavy states of the uterus with prolapse, bearing-down, and relaxed ligaments. He calls it "the medicinal pessary." I have repeatedly verified his indications. It is an organ-remedy of the first rank. It is also indicated in uterine tumours, especially fibroids, with bearing-down sensations.

Relations

Compare: Sepia, Lil. t., Nat. hyperchlor., Secale, Hydrast.

2. Head

Headache with vertigo followed by fever.─Throbbing pain in back of head and neck.
