Source & Nature
HALOPERIDOLUM is the potentized form of haloperidol, a synthetic butyrophenone-class first-generation antipsychotic drug (molecular formula C21H23ClFNO2; CAS 52-86-8; PubChem CID 3559). It was first synthesized in 1958 by Paul Janssen at Janssen Pharmaceutica and approved by the US FDA in 1967 under the brand name Haldol.
In conventional medicine haloperidol is used for schizophrenia, acute psychosis, bipolar mania, delirium, Tourette syndrome and intractable hiccups. As a homeopathic remedy it is the drug substance itself, prepared in potency.
