BoerickeClarkePhatak

Kalium chloricum acts most destructively upon the kidneys and oral mucosa, producing severe nephritis and ulcerative stomatitis. It is suited to septicemic conditions with tissue infiltration and sloughing, and to toxic states associated with pregnancy. Chronic nephritis and hepatitis with marked anemia are characteristic features of this remedy.

Key symptoms

  • Acute ulcerative and follicular stomatitis, aphthous and gangrenous
  • Parenchymatous nephritis with stomatitis
  • Noma (cancrum oris) with fetor
  • Hematuria and albuminuria with suppressed urine
  • Jaundice with chocolate-tinted skin discoloration
  • Vomiting of greenish-black matter
  • Profuse greenish mucous diarrhea
  • Toxemic conditions of pregnancy

It has long been used in the old school, in solution, as a wash for sore mouth and for foul ulcers. Hutchinson observed a number of case in which it produced the very condition which it was given to cure: "Most acute ulceration and follicular stomatitis. The whole mucous surface was red and …
