Adenosinum triphosphoricum is the homeopathic preparation of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the universal energy-carrier of living cells. ATP is a nucleotide — adenine joined to ribose (adenosine) and a chain of three phosphate groups (free acid C10H16N5O13P3, MW 507.18, CAS 56-65-5, PubChem CID 5957). Because it is a normal constituent of the human body, the remedy is classed as a sarcode rather than a drug or mineral.
The form actually used in the pharmacy is generally the water-soluble disodium salt, Adenosinum triphosphoricum dinatrium (Adenosine Triphosphate Disodium, PubChem CID 13803), which is also the basis of the published proving.
