A modern drug remedy of the cytotoxic antimetabolite class. Its sphere of action is inferred from the drug's toxicology: epithelial surfaces (oral and gastrointestinal mucosa, skin of palms and soles), the bone marrow and the heart. No proving-derived mind or constitutional picture exists.

Source & Nature

Fluorouracilum is the homeopathic preparation of fluorouracil (5-FU), a synthetic fluorinated pyrimidine antimetabolite used in conventional oncology. Chemically it is uracil with the 5-position hydrogen replaced by fluorine: C4H3FN2O2, molar mass 130.08 g/mol, CAS 51-21-8, PubChem CID 3385. Patented in 1956 and introduced clinically in 1962, it was developed by Charles Heidelberger with Robert Duschinsky and Robert Schnitzer at Hoffmann-La Roche.

Important: this remedy is entirely distinct from the classical homeopathic remedy Fluoricum acidum (hydrofluoric acid). The similar names are coincidental; their materia medica must not be merged.
