ClarkeNash

Jatropha suits the early stage of cholera-like illness with violent sudden profuse rice-water stools accompanied by easy copious vomiting, loud abdominal gurgling, and severe cramping. Coldness and blueness of the surface differentiate it from collapse-stage remedies.

Key symptoms

  • Sudden profuse gushing diarrhoea with rice-water stools
  • Very loud gurgling in abdomen as if a bottle is being emptied
  • Copious easy vomiting of watery albuminous ropy liquid
  • Diarrhoea associated with coldness, mottled blue surface, and cold sweat
  • Cramps predominant: griping cutting pains, sensation of balls rolling in abdomen
  • Patient writhes in bed with pain
  • Water almost immediately vomited after drinking

Worse (aggravation)

  • Walking in open air (increases rumbling)

Better (amelioration)

  • Open air (headache better)
  • Eructations of frothy matter and flatulence (pain better)
  • Cold water applied to hands (antidotes effects)
