BoerickeClarkePhatak

Lycopersicum appears especially suited to dark-complexioned, large, stout individuals prone to rheumatic and influenza conditions. It is indicated when there is intense congestive headache beginning in the occiput, marked right deltoid rheumatism, and coryza notably worse out of doors. Symptoms predominantly affect the right side and proceed from right to left.

Key symptoms

  • Intense throbbing bursting headache beginning in occiput spreading over entire head
  • Sharp rheumatic pain in right deltoid and pectoral muscles worse lifting arm
  • Profuse watery coryza dropping down posterior nares markedly worse out of doors
  • Scalp and whole head sore and bruised after headache has ceased
  • Intense aching through whole back especially lumbar region
  • Pupils minutely contracted; eyes dull, heavy, aching, burning
  • Polyuria; must rise at night to urinate
  • Brownish or frothy watery diarrhoea, painless

Worse (aggravation)

  • Open air (coryza, general debility)
  • Continued motion
  • Noise
  • Jars
  • Right side principally
  • Evening (headache)

Better (amelioration)

  • Warm room
  • Tobacco smoke (headache completely relieved)
  • External heat
  • Leaning head against something

I know of one instance in which the slightest indulgence in them brings on an attack of gout. When raw they require mustard or other condiment, being cold to the stomach.
