Modern MM
A modern pharmaceutical remedy whose sphere of action is inferred from local-anaesthetic toxicology: the nervous system (numbness, paraesthesia, tinnitus, tremor, seizures, alternating excitation and depression) and the heart (conduction depression, arrhythmia). No proving-derived mind or constitutional picture is established.

Key symptoms

Indications are inferred toxicologically (Law of Similars), not from a proving. The characteristic drug picture is numbness and tingling — classically perioral and of the tongue — with tinnitus, lightheadedness and visual disturbance; progressing to restlessness, agitation, muscle twitching and convulsions; and, at the deepest level, drowsiness, collapse, slow pulse and cardiac depression. The signature is loss of sensation/numbness coupled with an excitation-then-depression sequence in the nervous and cardiovascular systems.

Worse (aggravation)

Not established. No proving-derived or clinically verified modalities exist for this remedy.

Better (amelioration)

Not established. No proving-derived or clinically verified modalities exist for this remedy.

Source & Nature

Lidocainum hydrochloricum is the homeopathic preparation of lidocaine hydrochloride (lignocaine hydrochloride), a synthetic amino-amide local anaesthetic and Vaughan-Williams Class Ib antiarrhythmic first synthesised by Nils Löfgren's team in 1943 and marketed from 1948. The free base is C14H22N2O (CID 3676); the salt used for preparation is C14H23ClN2O (PubChem CID 6314, CAS 73-78-9, molecular weight approximately 270.8 g/mol). Pharmacologically it blocks fast voltage-gated sodium channels, abolishing nerve conduction locally and suppressing ventricular arrhythmias systemically.
